Welcome to Island Lyon. I’m Tamara Bennett, Founder & CEO. My journey to founding this integrated business, marketing, strategic planning, design and event firm has been shaped by a lifelong passion for community, storytelling, and strategic growth.
Born and raised against the backdrop of one of the world’s most powerful natural wonders—Niagara Falls, Canada—I learned early on to appreciate both the beauty of local community and the pull of a larger global perspective. That perspective took a major leap forward in 2012 when I made the move to the United States, embarking on a new chapter that would expand my professional horizons and ultimately bring me to the vibrant shores of St. Croix, USVI.
A Career Defined by Impact
My professional background is built on a diverse foundation of leadership, strategy, and creative execution. I bring more than 20 years of executive business experience and relationships. As a Senior Director and an Executive Director for high-impact non-profit organizations, including the United Way, I mastered the art of community building, resource optimization, and driving large-scale visions forward. I know what it takes to look at the big picture, align moving parts, and deliver meaningful results.

Island Lyon is the culmination of my life's many chapters. It merges the structured, purpose-driven strategy of my executive leadership background with sharp business and marketing instincts and a profound love for the Caribbean community.
